MFAB on the scene: Fashion Heals for SickKids
Fashion Heals for SickKids, is the fundraiser
and the fashion show – you’ll never forget
On October 2nd I attended the 5th annual edition Fashion Heals for SickKids which is a party for a cause hosted by The Atrium @ Ricardas in downtown Toronto and is one of my favourite venues in the city. When you walk-in you are surrounded by the spectacular exposed column beams that hold up the building. (The way this venue is designed is an art piece on it’s own). The structure is built in such a creative and artistic way that should be in a museum!
In the stunning Atrium @ Ricardas we had the chance to browse the silent auction which had amazing products and services donated by local and national business. There were unbelievable brands and services to bid on, for example there was a trip to Los Angeles to stay at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel with tickets to attend the “American Music Awards”! (Fabulous right?)!
The best news is…you did not have to be in attendance that evening to participate in the auction! You can still contribute by visting Fashion Heals 2019 Online Auction which is open until October 5th at 7pm. All the bids and money raised, Fashion Heals donates one hundred percent of the funds to the SickKids Foundation.
The evening was filled with fine food catered by Jonathan Preskow Catering Inc. and a one-of-a-kind fashion show curated by Toronto’s premier fashion consultancy, La Closette and hosted by Melissa Grelo and Jess Allen of CTV’s The Social who were styled by the fabulous Lesly Hampton . The Fashion Show was inspiring to watch. The runway featured SickKids patients – children and adults alike – and their devoted doctors and clinicians in support of the hospital’s Innovation Grant for Paediatric Cancer Care and Research and the SickKids VS Limits campaign to build a new SickKids Hospital.
The entertainment was unbelievable NTH Degree really know how to host a fabulous party. The entertainment kept on getting better and better with a surprise! Special performance by Canadian singer Karl Wolf who had a close connection to the cause. He dedicated his performance to someone very special to him who he recently lost to brain cancer “Supergirl-Jaden”.
