Disney travel guide – what to do, where to stay, what to eat, etc.

If you have been around here a lot, you know how much I love ALL things Disney. From the thrill of theme parks to the sweetness of characters like Mickey Mouse, I’m always looking forward to visiting Orlando, Florida.

I’m in a pretty great mood today because over the holidays Gordon and I booked ourselves a magical road trip to.. Walt Disney World!

so let’s jump right in the magic shall we…

To think that you can road trip from Toronto to Walt Disney World with just one car, some gas, and some sense of adventure and with a touch of pixie dust I’ve arrived at the Most Magical Place on Earth!

Disney World over the holidays is an absolutely magical experience! I just got back from a Disney World trip, so I’m writing this post to share the best things to do and my best tips for making your experience as magical as possible!

Disney’s All-Star Music Resort

This was my first time staying at this Disney Resort property and LOVED it! Here’s why? Staying at Disney hotels is a great way to make your trip more magical! The benefit to staying at a Disney resort on-site as opposed to somewhere else? The main perk is that you get access to Extra Magic Hours (earlier or later hours for the parks) You can also take the Disney transportation to and from your resort to all the parks for FREE!

Disney World park tips

Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida is the largest of all the resorts with 4 theme parks and 2 water parks.

If you are able to visit the Disney Parks over the holidays you must admire the Christmas trees and decorations. Each Disney park has its own beautiful Christmas tree, and it’s worth visiting every park during your trip just to see them all! They are all decorated differently based on the park. There are also spectacular holiday decorations at all of the parks. My favorites decorations were definitely the ones at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

This is my biggest tip for any Disney parks. Take advantage of Extra Magic Hours! The first hour a park is open is always going to be the least crowded. It’s worth the early wakeup call to get multiple popular rides done before the lines get long. Plus, you can get all your insta photos complete and capture those magic moments with less crowds in the background.

Get Park-hopper tickets! Park-hopper tickets allow you to “hop” between parks in a single day. So you could visit Magic Kingdom in the morning, then go to Epcot later in the day with your park-hopper ticket. Honestly, the best as you have the freedom when planning your days and nights at the parks.

disney must-haves for your park bag

I’ve got you covered! you won’t want to forget to pack these commonly overlooked items when planning your Disney parks days.

This was my first time using the LoungFly as they can be expensive but let me tell you it was so worth the money! They are lightweight and comfortable, great compartments to organize your items and plus they are so fashionable!

Here’s my essential Disney Park Bags list:

1. Portable charger - SO IMPORTANT! The last thing you want is for your phone battery to die in the midst of taking a photo of Cinderella’s Castle or checking wait times for a ride.

2. Ring Light - If you are like me, and will be capturing every magical moment when visiting the parks. You are definitely going to need a ring light to have the extra pixie dust glow at night in the parks.

3. Neck Fan - The weather in can always vary in Orlando, Florida and the heat can get extreme so I recommend bring a neck fan for those cool off breaks while at the parks and waiting in those long queue lines.

4. Rain poncho - Florida can vary in weather and when it rains it pours. I recommend going to your local dollar store to buy them at the Disney parks they can be expensive.

DISNEY WORLD must-try items

When it comes to Disney treats at the parks here are my top 2 treats and trust me you would thank me after as they are AMAZING! There are so many delicious treats at Disney World but by these two are by far my favourite and no trip to Disney World is complete without sampling some treats! Am I right?
